I’d recommend Bill and his team for any painting job. My landlord was very happy with the quality of the job. Bill is attentive, reliable and provides good value for money.

A fresh coat of paint lifts the entire mood of your home. It covers stains, smooths over damage, modernises colours, and makes your space feel clean, stylish, and refreshed.
If your walls are showing cracks, scuffs, peeling, or fading—or if your colour scheme feels dated—it’s time. Fresh paint can dramatically improve how you feel about your home.
Most quotes are delivered within 48 hours. We’ll schedule a time that works for you and provide a detailed, transparent estimate without the hard sell.
We handle everything—from prep to clean-up—and we’re the only painters in Melbourne who offer a free 3-month follow-up inspection to ensure lasting satisfaction.
A single room typically takes one full day including preparation, two coats, and drying time between applications. A full house interior — four bedrooms, living areas, hallways — usually runs four to six days depending on the complexity of the trim work and any ceiling repairs needed. We’ll give you a realistic timeline at quote stage so you can plan accordingly.
Large pieces — sofas, beds, wardrobes — should be moved to the centre of the room or to an adjacent space before we arrive. We cover and protect everything left in the room with drop sheets. If you need help moving heavy items, let us know at booking and we can factor that into the schedule.
Good preparation is what separates a long-lasting result from one that peels in two years. We wash walls to remove grease and dust, sand back rough areas, fill cracks and holes, and sand smooth before priming. Timber skirtings and architraves are sanded and cleaned before top-coating. If existing paint is flaking, we stabilise it first. Cutting in around edges and fittings is done carefully by hand.
Modern water-based interior paints have very low VOC levels and the smell dissipates quickly with adequate ventilation — open windows and fans for the first few hours does most of the work. Solvent-based products used on some timber and metal surfaces have a stronger smell; we recommend keeping children and pets away from those areas for 24 hours. We’re happy to specify low-VOC or zero-VOC products if you have sensitivities.
Low-sheen or matte finishes suit bedrooms and formal living areas — they hide minor wall imperfections well but are harder to wipe clean. Satin or semi-gloss is right for kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, and children’s rooms where walls need to be washed regularly. High-gloss is typically reserved for doors and timber trim where durability matters most. We advise on the right product for each surface at quote stage.
Homes built before 1970 — and some into the 1980s — are likely to contain lead-based paint, particularly on skirtings, window frames, and exterior surfaces. Lead paint in sound condition presents minimal risk. However, if we’re sanding or scraping those surfaces, we follow safe work procedures: wet sanding, dust containment, appropriate PPE, and correct disposal of waste. We do not dry-sand lead paint. If you’re uncertain, we can advise on testing before work begins.
For most interior repaints over a sound existing colour, two topcoats give a full, even finish. If you’re making a dramatic colour change, a tinted undercoat is recommended first. New plaster always needs a sealer or primer coat before topcoating. A quoted price reflects the actual number of applications the job requires — we don’t cut corners on coats.
Yes. We can colour-match from a paint chip, a sample of the existing wall, or a reference swatch. Most paint suppliers use spectrophotometer scanners that get very close to any colour. For large areas where an exact match matters, we recommend repainting the whole wall from corner to corner to avoid a visible join. If you have the original paint code or brand, that’s always the simplest starting point.
