MELBOURNE'S TRUSTED PAINTERS OVER 18 YEARS

Body Corporate Painter

Body Corporate PainterIt’s Bill from Melbourne City Maintenance, and we’re proud to be involved in this project in Essendon. We were requested by the 10 owners of the building, through the body corporate, to paint the exterior of this facade that hasn’t been maintained since it was first built more than 15 years ago. As you can see, we’ve already made some progress.

There’s a significant difference between the old and new render. The new one was very faded and dirty, full of stains, and we had to ensure that it was properly sealed before painting it with an exterior membrane to make it waterproof and prevent water penetration. As you can see, the first coat is being applied to this wall, creating quite a contrast.

There is a very noticeable difference between the old and new colors immediately, even after just one coat of the three. As we continued, we addressed all the issues on the balcony edges, which were dirty and stained due to water running off the balcony tiles and trickling over the sides.

We also sanded back, washed, and restored the timber work with an exterior timber product, and it’s looking fantastic. To access the high sections of the building, we needed boom lift services provided by our supplier, Dura Lift, who helped us reach the areas we couldn’t reach otherwise.

Now, this is a project that cannot be done without council approval. We made sure to obtain council approval and supplied the necessary permits and traffic management to divert pedestrians away from the work zone safely.

Before starting, we had renderers attend to any damage sustained by the render over the last 15 years. We wanted to ensure that there were no imperfections on the render so that it could last for at least another 15 years or more.

You can see where all the render patching has been done, and the blending in of the render where repairs were made. When it’s painted, it will look almost invisible and result in a fantastic finish.

This is what the building looked like at the beginning, and you can see the progress we’ve made as we’ve tackled this project. It has continued to change and transform right before everyone’s eyes.

The clients are extremely excited and very happy with the results. If you’re looking for body corporate painting services, please contact Bill at Melbourne City Maintenance at 0403-162-374.
