City Office Painting in Melbourne: Transforming ABC Photo Signs’ Workspace

A Long-Overdue Refresh for a Trusted Client

When you’re managing commercial spaces, presentation is everything. After more than a decade since their last refresh, our long-time client, ABC Photo Signs, knew it was time to give their Melbourne office a brighter, more modern look.

Based in Sunshine, their workspace had served them well — but the dark, dated colours, wall damage, and tired finishes were starting to affect the feel of the space. They called in Melbourne City Maintenance to handle the transformation.

The Challenge

Over the years, the walls and doors had taken a beating.

  • Plaster damage from everyday wear and tear
  • Door surface damage where old signage had been removed
  • Outdated blue door colour that no longer matched the modern branding
  • A workspace that felt dark and uninviting

And because the office was still operational, the project needed to be completed in two stages to minimise disruption.

Our Plan for the Makeover

At Melbourne City Maintenance, we follow a simple plan for commercial repaint projects:

  1. Assess & Prepare – Identify damage, plan repairs, and protect work areas.
  2. Repair & Restore – Plaster repairs to walls, full restoration of doors.
  3. Repaint & Revive – Apply two coats of premium Dulux Natural White to brighten the walls and Haymes Venetian for the doors, replacing the old Tiffany blue.

For ABC Photo Signs, this meant starting with the sales and executive area in Phase 1, before moving on to the offices near the staircase in Phase 2.

Bright, Modern, and Ready for Business

The result? A sharp, modern workspace that now reflects ABC Photo Signs’ professional image.

  • Walls: Dulux Natural White brought in light, space, and freshness.
  • Doors: Haymes Venetian provided a sophisticated, neutral contrast.
  • Repairs: Every dent, scratch, and damaged section was made good as new.

And because the carpet was due for replacement, we were able to work efficiently without the need for floor protection, shaving valuable time off the project.

The After Phase

Once the paint had dried, brand new carpet was installed, and staff moved back into their refreshed space. The change was immediate — brighter walls, modern finishes, and a more inspiring environment for the whole team.
