Interior House painter – Hey, it’s Bill from Melbourne City Maintenance, your local interior house painter. And here we are at this weatherboard home in Preston that is getting ready to be sold by the current owner, who happens to be a friend of mine leaving to go overseas permanently. They needed the place to be transformed from green to this beautiful neutral Dulux natural white on all surfaces, including the ceiling, walls, skirting boards, windows, architraves, as well as the doors.
And the place is looking really immaculate. Unfortunately, there aren’t any before photos because I forgot to take them. But you can see that every surface has been properly prepared and painted.
The reason it needed some preparation work is that the walls had some cracks in them because the house had been recently restumped. After the restumping, some cracks emerged in the plaster that were simply filled with the appropriate fillers, sanded smooth, and applied with some undercoat. Then we continued to paint over the top of them as per normal.
All wardrobes and cupboard doors were painted in the same color. The walls are finished with interior low sheen by Haymes, the ceilings were finished with ceiling flat by Haymes paints, and the doors, skirting boards, architraves, and the rest of the timberwork were finished with semi-gloss enamel.
So now the house looks nice and clean and is a blank canvas for the new owners who will move in. This room was painted in a dark green, and I wish I had taken a before photo because it looks completely different now. The new color is much brighter and lighter compared to the old one.
The carpets were removed, revealing some minor damage to the skirtings, which we quickly dealt with by repairing them, filling the gaps and nail holes, sanding them smooth, and applying two coats of semi-gloss enamel.
You can see how much brighter and lighter this house is now. The new color is really good at keeping the place looking very bright and light without making it too dark like a straight white color.
In the bathroom, there wasn’t a lot of work to do. We just painted the window, ceiling, door, and doorframe because the tiles go from floor to ceiling.
Moving on to the large lounge and living room, we painted all surfaces and protected the TV, couch, and kitchen table. We covered the curtains and benches with drop sheets to ensure we didn’t leave any splash marks or damage any furniture in the house.
At the end of the day, we removed all the drop sheets so the homeowners could resume their normal activities. They were still able to use their kitchen table and feed their children without any disruption.
As you can see, this house has come up looking amazing. In a little while, you’ll get to see some of the photos that were taken by the agent for the sale photos. If you need a house painted and prepared for sale, please call Bill from Melbourne City Maintenance on 0403-162-374.
Here are the after photos, which look amazing. The house is simply staged with lovely furniture and interesting pictures on the walls that now stand out as the center of the room instead of the colors of the rooms being the main thing that you see.
You can appreciate the beautiful furniture, and the lovely benchtop, and check out this entrance. Isn’t it amazing? There’s a nice bright light, and this is a lovely area to live in.
