MELBOURNE'S TRUSTED PAINTERS OVER 18 YEARS

Painter In Northcote

Painter In NorthcoteIt’s Bill from Melbourne City Maintenance. I’m a painter in Northcote and I was hired by my client at 20 Jesse Street, Northcote, to do some exterior house painting as a preventative to keep their boards protected from the elements. The house hadn’t been painted since around 2014.

We started by sanding the entire house and filling all the gaps and cracks, making sure to punch in any protruding nails. We also attended to the weatherboard repairs and replaced the few rotten weatherboards that were found.

And we proceeded to undercoat them, filled any gaps or cracks, and ensured they were ready and sealed for two coats of paint. We also removed the downpipes to ensure good access to the weatherboards behind them. You can see some of the sanding that occurred behind there just to make sure that the weatherboards are in good condition when we put the downpipes back.

And then, we proceeded to attend to the front of the house as well, where we sanded all the windows or window frames, and the front door. We didn’t paint the lacework on this home as it was in really good condition and the color that it was already in.

On this side, we collaborated with the client to ensure that they could remove some of the services, such as the air conditioning unit, from the wall before we began our work. Once they were removed, we proceeded to work on this side of the house as well.

We sanded everything, prepared all the windows, and made sure they were in very good condition before painting them. Then, we applied two coats of exterior paint in exactly the same color.

So, the after photos aren’t very different from the before photos. However, the client got a really lovely result as the house looks exactly as it did before we started, but it is now freshened up and has two new coats of paint over the top.

This means that the house now has the potential to look good and remain free from rot for another eight to nine years. If you’re looking for a local painter in Northcote, feel free to contact Bill from Melbourne City Maintenance for a free, no-obligation quote.
