House Painter Camberwell
Hi, it’s Bill from Melbourne City Maintenance again. I’m currently doing some exterior house painting on a weatherboard home in Camberwell that hasn’t been painted in many years. As usual, we had to attend to some weatherboard repairs.
We swapped out the rotten ones with matching weatherboards we attended to the surface by sanding every aspect of the home, removing all the flaking paint, and making it ready for the new coats of paint to be applied. The weatherboards were in very good condition, but there were some that needed replacing. The windows, however, were in very good condition, and there weren’t any problems at all.
You can see the flaking paint in some areas that came off after we sanded the weatherboards. It wasn’t anything major, but it’s pretty standard for weatherboard homes that haven’t been painted in a while. However, this is a problem, as flaky paint allows water to penetrate the weatherboards, eventually causing them to rot and making the job and repair more extensive down the track.
And here’s the after video. We’ve got the weatherboards all prepared and painted with two coats of exterior low sheen in “Surf Mist” colorbond. The trim has been painted in “Pale Eucalypt” colorbond, and you can see how much better this place is looking after two coats of paint on all the surfaces and all the preparation we have done.
Now, this is going to allow the house to be weather-tight and waterproof for quite a number of years, at least 10 years between this paint job and the next. The veranda was given the same kind of work, and we’ve also painted the gutters and downpipes to match the rest of the house.
We painted all the fascias and eaves, and we attended to every surface in the same way to ensure longevity. And to make sure that when we leave, there’s nothing to be done on this home for at least another 10 years. As we go around the corner.
You can now see the difference between the walls that had flaky paint and now that they do not, there is no more flaking paint. We properly sealed everything and it looks amazing. All the gaps were filled and the nail holes were punched, filled with appropriate fillers, and sanded.
Everything that needed to be done has been completed. The client is extremely satisfied. She’s happy that the place is now properly sealed and in good condition, and that it will last for at least another 10 years. We’re delighted to have worked on this weatherboard home in Camberwell. We’re grateful for the opportunity to work for our clients. If you need your home painted, please call Bill on 0403 162 374.
